What is it? Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.
What is it for?
OCIA is a program of formation to help lead people into the Catholic faith from other denominations.
It is a way for those who have been baptized to complete their sacraments to become fully practicing Catholics.
The program is a way for people who are already Catholic to get a refresher course on the beliefs (truths) we hold in the Catholic faith.
This is an opportunity for members of the parish to help sponsor these new people into the faith.
Who is Eligible?
Anyone 15 or older who has not received all of the appropriate Sacraments may attend this program. This program is also designed to help anyone who is interested in deepening their understanding of the Catholic Faith and Traditions.
When do we meet?
We begin classes in late August or the first week of September (depending on when Easter falls in the year) and the process ends at the Easter Vigil Mass.
We have a one hour instruction period followed by a meal and fellowship.
